Basic airplane pilot's log book. Nice compact size.

I thought it was the same page layout as my ASA SP-57, but it's not. 1. It's small so it will fit in with your pubs bag, headset bag, kneeboard, etc. 2. It's well constructed with a nice cover. 3. It has spot in the back for various endorsements, type ratings, etc. 4. It is a basic FIXED WING pilot's log book. It has three columns for aircraft type: one column for ASEL (Airplane-Single Engine Land), one for AMEL (Airplane-Multi-Engine Land) and one blank column, that you can use for some other type of aircraft, seaplane, helicopter/rotorcraft, glider, etc. 5. All Columns: Date, Aircraft Make, Aircraft Identification Number, From, To, ASEL, AMEL, BLANK ACFT, Ground trainer, Dual received, Pilot in Command, Blank (could be Second in Command, Flight instructor, etc), Day, Night, CrossCountry, Actual Instrument, Simulated instrument, # of Instrument approaches, Landings, Total duration of flight, and a column for remarks, instructor comments, etc.

The ASA’s Standard Pilot Log is great for causal

I purchased this log for when I fly privately out of a local municipal airport. The ASA’s Standard Pilot Log is great for causal, fixed wing private pilots who prefer to keep their logs in a written format instead of an electronic device such as an iPad. Professional pilots might want to consider a more complex logbook, or one that is compatible with your company’s own standards. When evaluating the logbook, the following criteria was used: • Does the book match industry standards? • Does the book meet FAA requirements and regulations? • Is it easy to follow? • Is the book made of quality materials that won’t fall apart over time? • Does it come as advertised? Meets Industry Standards. The book holds up to industry standards and will be easily readable by any licensed pilot or aviation company. You can easily follow the entries to recall general details about past flights. The book meets all FAA requirements for logging flights, as well as providing extra information slots for personal use. Well Made. The Standard Pilots Log’s hardcover provides reliable protection against falls, drink spills, folding pages, and general wear from usage, so you don’t have to worry about it falling apart on you. The cover also hangs out over the pages about half a centimeter further protecting the pages from fraying and being crushed around the edges when being jostled around in a backpack or flight bag. The binding is well put together and withstands regular use. Improved Entry Pages. The entry pages have changed somewhat since the last Logbook, additional information sections including an ‘Additional notes’ section has been added. To compensate the entries are somewhat smaller than the previous editions but still provide ample amounts of room for filling out information. The compact size also allows for it to be easily stowed in your headset bag, knee bag, or in the planes seatback. Additional Notes Section. When logging your flight the additional notes section can be especially useful to record events are useful to aircraft mechanics. An example would be if you happened to break a few rivets on the propeller spinner. You can log that it happened in the additional information section. If it keeps happening you can compare flights to see if there are any similarities, helping narrow down where the problem might be originating. Reliable. Lastly, unlike electronic systems pen and paper is inexpensive, doesn’t crash, can’t be ‘accidentally’ deleted, and you don’t need to plug it in to an outlet to charge it. Overall the ASA’s Standard Pilot Log comes as advertised. It is a good logbook for casual usage and performs well for both new and old pilots.

Decent but very small

Decent but on the small side. Missing medical entries and other things that competing ones have because of its small size. Also the pages bleed through very easily when using certain kinds of pens. The endorsement sections at the back are so small I don’t think anyone could be able to write within the lines provided.

Small sized log book

Warning - this (ASA-SP-30) is a smaller logbook than, what I consider "standard". Also, the layout of columns, etc., is different than the standard logbook. I saw it was physically smaller when I received it but didn't realize the format was different until I opened the plastic wrapper, which was after the return window closed! Cleaver me, I bought two. The regular/standard sized book is the ASA-SP-57.

Pilot Log Excellent for Students

Okay this is my very first Pilot Log Book but based on what I have read and learned I am very happy I made this purchase. Easy to read and plenty of room for Endorsements the cheapest part of being a student pilot is this purchase and it will last a long as you will ever need it

Smaller than my other log books

This log book is smaller than the others, so it will be a different size on my shelf. Shipping was much longer than stated, so I had lots of entries to make when I finally received it.

Cover the same the inside no so much

I bought this logbook ASA-SP-30 two years ago. When I filled up the pages I reordered. The logbook I received this time, while the same on the outside, has a new layout inside. The new layout is more like a training logbook. I enjoy using this size logbook because it convenient to carry in a bag. I ordered a different logbook this. Hopefully ASA goes back to old layout.

Great book at great price

Perfect standard pilot logbook for me to start flying lessons. Seems well built and will definitely suffice.

The best standard.

A good quality logbook that has got just what you need. And, you get the satisfaction of completing the log book relatively quickly. Rather than a giant logbook that can take many years to complete.

Works as expected

Its a log book. Not much to say. The binding has held up. Only complaint is it is small to write in.
